The MJD P/O Host Interface
is one part of MJD Software's portable bar code receiving solution
for Sage Accpac ERP. Together with the MJD
Nexus and Live Receipts,
the MJD P/O Host Interface handles the process of electronically
selecting purchase orders for exporting, updating the purchase orders
with received quantities, and then posting receipts in the Purchase
Orders module.
Among its key features,
the MJD P/O Host Interface is designed to:
- Integrate fully with
Sage Accpac ERP Purchase Order module
- Eliminate errors in
the transfer of information during the receiving process
- Export purchase orders
to a hand-held terminal to be received against
- Automatically import
receipts as they are downloaded from Live Receipts
- Update purchase orders
with received quantities and post receipts
The MJD P/O Host Interface
integrates with Sage Accpac ERP Purchase Orders module to
export purchase orders and, with MJD's PBT
for Windows, to access bar code and unit of measure information
for exported line items. The P/O Host Interface then uses the MJD
Nexus to transfer purchase orders to a hand-held terminal for
receiving.
Once purchase orders
are sent to the hand-held terminal, MJD's Live
Receipts application allows you to receive goods electronically.
Vendor bar codes are uploaded to the hand-held terminal, so that
when one is scanned it is translated to your corresponding ACCPAC
item number. If items are flagged in ACCPAC I/C as requiring serial
numbers, the user will be prompted to enter serial numbers for each
item received. Serial number information can then be later transferred
to a 3rd party serial database. Information about receipts can then
be transferred back from the hand-held through MJD Nexus to the
P/O Host Interface. The import function in the P/O Host Interface
checks for errors before updating the purchase order with received
quantities and adjusted quantities outstanding. A corresponding
receipt is also posted at the time of import.
