PBT for Windows User Guide

PBT for Windows allows users to manage bar codes and print bar code labels. It is fully integrated with Sage Accpac ERP. This integration allows users to directly link bar code data to items in Sage Accpac ERP Inventory Control. In addition, PBT for Windows provides easy printing and formatting of bar code item labels. Labels can be printed on demand for specific items or can be printed based on items and quantities on orders, invoices, PO's, receipts and other documents in IC, OE and the PO modules. Data selected for printing is passed to BarTender for Windows, bar code labeling and design software from Seagull Scientific which comes bundled with PBT for Windows. PBT for Windows uses Crystal Reports to generate bar code maintenance reports.

PBT for Windows has been designed with three bar code databases. The Internal bar code database is for items which have a one to one relationship with a bar code. Figure 1 shows the internal bar code database. Next is the Customer bar code database which allows the user to assign specific bar codes or SKU's to a given item number for a specific customer. Labels can then be generated with a customer's personal bar codes on it. Finally there is a Vendor bar code database, meaning items can be tracked by the bar code from a specific vendor. This is useful for situations where the same item may be received from different vendors.

PBT for Windows comes with predefined selection profiles for choosing what types of labels to print and what criteria to select them by. The selection criteria and screen layout varies depending on the profile selected. The default profiles are:

• IC Item on-file printing (range of items)
• IC Item on file printing (single item selection)
• IC Item in-stock printing
• OE Order line item printing
• PO Receipt line item printing
• IC Receipt item printing
