O/E Host Interface User Guide

The MJD O/E Host Interface for Sage ACCPAC ERP is a Host Adaptor for the MJD Nexus Data Collection Suite.

Together with the MJD Nexus foundation and Live Picking or Remote Sales Portable Applications, the MJD O/E Host Interface facilitates the following processes;


Picking:

- selection of orders for picking
- extraction and configurable formatting of orders for delivery to data collection device
- updating the orders with shipped/fufilled quantities
- update of serial and/or lot information

- error definition and identification

manual or automatic posting

The O/E Host Interface merges selected orders from Sage Accpac ERP Order Entry with item bar codes from PBT for Windows to create an electronic picking slip. The electronic picking slip is sent to a hand-held device for truly portable picking and data collection. Picking errors are eliminated, as the system is able to electronically identify and validate the items being scanned. Pickers are warned of overpicking, underpicking, or picking the wrong item.

The O/E Host Interface can be set up to prevent the invoicing or posting of orders when certain types of picking conditions occur, such as incomplete orders. A complete report is generated to identify these conditions.


Remote Ordering / Sales:
- electronic creation of orders in Host ACCPAC from orders generated on remote device (Merchandising Mode)
- elecrtonic creation of shipments in Host ACCPAC from shipments generated on device (Peddle Mode)

- manual or automatic posting of orders/shipments and invoices


Automated Import

In both Processes, whether fulfilling existing orders or creation of new orders collected in the field, the import procedure can be further automated by using the Auto-Import feature which automatically checks, updates and posts orders or invoices, as transactions are downloaded from the hand-held terminal.
