The
Live Picking Portable Application is part of MJD Software's
wireless picking solution. It is a Win CE program that runs on a
Symbol mobile computer with an integrated bar code scanner. Live
Picking directs the picker to pick orders and ensures that the correct
items and quantities are picked. Orders from Sage Accpac ERP Order
Entry are exported as electronic picking files and uploaded to the
hand-held terminal. The picker is prompted through the picking process.
The program verifies that items scanned or entered, match the items
on the order and warns if the user over or under picks an item.
This makes it almost impossible for the picker to pick the wrong
item or the wrong quantity and thus almost eliminates mis-shipments.
If an item requires serial or lot numbers, it will prompt the user
for them.
The Live Picking
Portable Application integrates with the O/E
Host Interface which exports orders to be picked. Transactions
are sent to and from Live Picking via the MJD
Nexus.Once an order has been picked it is then imported
into Sage Accpac ERP Order Entry as a shipment or invoice. The shipped
quantities on the Order Entry shipment screen are automatically
updated with the picked quantities collected on the hand-held terminal,
thus eliminating data entry of the ship quantities and also any
errors that might otherwise occur during data entry.
